I think it sounds / looks about right. After it dries, the black metal, I would do a wash with something like a gray bronze, if you are, what the assembly line still seems to want.
EDIT: Take this advice from Feller. He seems to know whereof he speaks. =) I recommend moving to painting / washing live parts. Unless you want to see the brand new, as I said. What is grace? =)
